I was honoured to paint this tribute for the Armour Schools 75th anniversary and the fact that I painted the tribute on a restored Sherman Tank barrel was a privilege. The project had its challenges but the final product was worth the effort and it stands proudly on display for years to come.
As you walk around the barrel you can visually see the 75 years history displaying key points in time. The project is painted with House of Kolor paint and all freehand airbrush. I then protected the art with House of Kolor flat clear which gave the piece the army green feel. I didn’t want the shiny look.
The piece now sits at the Armd School at CFB Gagetown as a monument and a tribute to the soldiers that have served.
